Who we are
BullFrogBuddy is a classroom management tool for teachers. This policy explains what information we collect, why, and how it's protected. Questions can be sent to mcdanieljordan@gmail.com.
Information we collect
From teachers (account holders): - Name and email (via Google sign-in) - School name, city, state, grade level(s) taught, years of experience, and typical class size (collected through an optional onboarding survey)
About students, entered by the teacher: - First name and last initial - An optional photo, uploaded by the teacher - Attendance records - Behavior, academic, and general notes - Skill/TEKS progress ratings - RTI (Response to Intervention) plans and progress data
We do not collect information directly from students. All student data is entered and managed by the teacher.
How we use information
- To provide the seating chart, attendance, notes, and analytics features the teacher uses
- To generate progress charts and reports for the teacher's own use
- Aggregated, de-identified survey data may be used to understand who uses BullFrogBuddy and to improve the product
Data sharing
- We do not sell student or teacher data.
- We do not share student data with advertisers.
- Data may be shared with service providers who help us run the app (such as our database host), solely to operate the service.
- If a teacher chooses to export analytics and share them with another teacher for comparison purposes, that sharing is initiated by the teacher, not by us.
Data security
- Student and teacher data is protected using row-level security, meaning each teacher can only access their own students' data.
- Confidential notes are protected behind an additional PIN set by the teacher.
- Data is stored with an industry-standard database provider (Supabase) using encrypted connections.
FERPA Compliance
Student data entered by teachers into BullFrogBuddy constitutes Educational Records under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). BullFrogBuddy operates as a School Official acting under the direction of the teacher who enters the data. We do not share student Educational Records with third parties except for service providers strictly necessary to operate the application (such as our database host), and those providers are contractually bound to keep data confidential. We do not use student data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than providing the service to the teacher.
Data Retention & Deletion
- Teachers can delete individual students, classes, or their entire account at any time.
- When you delete your account, all associated student data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

Children's privacy
BullFrogBuddy is designed for use by teachers, not directly by students. Student information is entered exclusively by the teacher as part of classroom management, not collected from children directly. Teachers should follow their school or district's policies regarding student photos and data before entering them into the app.
Payment information
Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers ourselves — Stripe handles all payment data directly.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the "Last updated" date at the top will be revised, and material changes will be communicated to users.
California Residents (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the following rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA):
- Right to know: You may request information about the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
- Right to delete: You may request that we delete personal information we have collected from you, subject to certain exceptions.
- Right to opt out of sale: We do not sell personal information. We have not sold personal information in the preceding 12 months.
- Right to non-discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising your CCPA rights.
